60 new jobs are to be created by Irish-owned security and alarm company Alarm Control 24...

The firm, which is based in Sandyford in south Dublin, employs 22 people and operates a long-range radio telemetry network, an innovative form of alarm technology which is resistent to GSM blocking technology.

The new jobs, which are being announced today, are part of a €3 million investment by the company in a new monitoring centre at its Sandyford site. About half of the new jobs will be created within two years, while the company will add an additional 20 to 30 jobs from 2014.

According to Derek Mooney, director of Alarm Control 24, the jobs will be mainly specialised radio engineer positions, though the company is also expanding its monitoring staff team. He said further jobs could be created indirectly by security companies which adopt the new technology for their clients.

Alarm Control 24 supplies alarm and security systems to businesses, home-owners and security companies across the country.
