LUDO is an intelligent desk lamp luminaire concept designed for the workstation that provides personalised, interactive and controllable features using a power-efficient intelligent controller (Intel Galileo processor).
LUDO is designed by Patina Lighting in Ireland and demonstrates the highest level of energy efficiency, security, comfort and convenience. With LUDO, lighting is intelligently delivered to where it’s needed and at the level it’s needed. LUDO is currently in the pilot phase and will be released in early 2015.

The embedded smarts include:
Log Data (environmental and energy data) gathered by the light and make that data available for use through applications on the internet or on a company’s private network.
Control the Light Levels remotely over the internet or a private network. This means a company can centrally manage the configuration of its lights with minimal physical interaction.
Security and Personal lighting preference – LUDO uses motion sensors, RFID security and in built cameras to provide security at its location. LUDO can provide photographic evidence of unauthorised persons in proximity of the light. The light can be set up with personal preference lighting for persons authorised to use the light at that location.
Data Display- LUDO has an integrated e-paper display showing current environmental and device energy data. The data logged by the light can also be available to any internet capable device (Smartphone, PC, Tablet).
Environmental Data – LUDO is equipped with sensors gathering data about the air temperature, lighting levels, air quality (by measuring CO2 levels) and humidity levels in the vicinity of the light.
Energy Data – The energy data of LUDO is gathered. This includes a data point for power the light is consuming as well as a data point for how much power it’s harvesting from ambient light through the solar module.
