Dundrum’s progressive car parks nominated for top award

Best Quality Management System in Ireland for a Car Park Services. That’s the title that Progressive Car Parks (PCP) based in Dundrum in Dublin could be laying claim to on September 26th 2014, having been announced as one of the finalists at the 2014 National Q Mark Awards.

Announcing the list of finalists yesterday, Ms. Irene Collins, the Managing Director of Excellence Ireland Quality Association, announced that the team from Progressive Car Parks have surpassed the National standards of Quality and Excellence and have set a new benchmark that all other car park services should be aiming for. She went on to say that, “The nomination for Best Quality Management System in Ireland for a Car Park Services recognises that Progressive Car Parks is operating at the highest standard of Quality and Excellence in the country”.

In the face of increasingly competitive markets and mounting pressure on companies to produce goods and services at low cost, many of us now have concerns about who is protecting us when it comes to quality testing and best practice. This is why it is so reassuring to know that EIQA – The Guardians of The Q Mark, are still rigorously auditing all types of businesses and will only award the coveted Q Mark to those that operate at standards far above the current legislative requirements and conduct their affairs with the consumer’s best interests in mind.

Progressive Car Parks was founded in 2004 and currently manages the car parking facilities in Dundrum Town Centre, Pavilions Shopping Centre, Swords and Dundrum Village Centre. In total, the service provides six thousand parking spaces and facilitates over six and a half million cars annually. PCP has managed the Dundrum sites since 2005 and the Swords site since 2010 and employs a dedicated team of fifty seven people. The services they provide have proven essential to the transformation and growth of Dundrum and are proving equally significant in Swords.

On hearing that they had been nominated for this prestigious award, Peter Keegan, Operations Manager at Progressive Car Parks said, “This evaluation programme carried out by external professionals encourages the team to continuously chase, change, and upgrade operational and control processes when the opportunity arises.”

This year’s glamorous, star-studded awards ceremony will take place in the stunning ballroom of the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel when the team from Progressive Car Parks in Dublin will go head to head with the best Irish businesses of 2014 to compete for what are known as ‘The Oscars of Business Excellence’.

The nomination for Progressive Car Parks is a wonderful demonstration of how a local business can set the standards for the country as a whole.  No doubt their customers are already applauding their success and will wish them well for the final in Dublin on September 26th 2014.
