PhoneWatch Launches New Home Safety System

PhoneWatch, Irelands leading provider of monitored alarms has launched its new Home Safety System on the Irish market. The unique system is the first in Ireland to monitor homes against theft, fire and carbon monoxide, known as the ‘silent killer’...

In a survey of 1,000 homeowners across Ireland commissioned by PhoneWatch,

  • 85% of home residents in Ireland are concerned about being burgled but almost half of those surveyed did not have a burglar alarm in their home
  • 73% of householders surveyed were concerned about the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning yet only 43% have a relevant alarm
  • 80% of residents are concerned about the possibility of a fire yet only 14% of those that have smoke alarm test it regularly.

Eoin Dunne, CEO, PhoneWatch said; “We all want to be safe and secure in our own homes.  For most of us protecting our loved ones is our biggest priority and the installation of monitored smoke and CO detectors gives significantly increased protection to our families and our homes.   Once the alarm is activated our monitoring control centre can call the emergency services immediately, thereby helping to save lives”.

The PhoneWatch Home Safety System has the latest in technology including monitored alarm sensors against theft and always on monitored smoke and CO detectors.  For convenience it comes with a remote on/off alarm key via a smartphone app and has wireless components which eliminate the need for a land line and a prolonged installation process.

In 2014 there were 37 fire related deaths in Ireland. Regrettably 21 of these deaths occurred in houses or premises with no identifiable fire alarm and possibly could have been prevented (DofE 2015).  Carbon Monoxide is a colourless, odourless, poisonous gas and is a common yet preventable cause of death from poisoning worldwide. On average between 1 and 2 people die each year in Ireland from unintentional CO poisoning in the home in incidents related to domestic heating or other fossil fuel installations(www.carbonmonoxide.ie).

Eoin Dunne added; “We’re passionate about keeping our customers safe. With monitored smoke and carbon monoxide alarms as standard, the PhoneWatch Home Safety System delivers absolute peace-of-mind to homeowners.  This latest innovation sets PhoneWatch apart and is the reason why PhoneWatch is the market leader for home safety and security in Ireland.

PhoneWatch is Irelands leading provider of monitored alarm systems and employs over 200 people around the country. The company has offices in Sandyford , Cork, Limerick, Galway, Wexford, Athlone, Kilkenny, Letterkenny and Kildare.
