The aim of this course is to give you the skills and the confidence to deal with cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke and choking in adults, children and infants and to deal with other common infant / child medical issues.

Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course

Course Content

  • How to make emergency calls.
  • CPR - airway, rescue breaths, chest compressions, barrier devices
  • Use of defibrillators
  • The safe airway / recovery position
  • Falls, breaks and concussion
  • Cuts, bleeding ,burns
  • Respiratory issues
  • High temperatures / febrile convulsions
  • Allergies / poisons
  • Feeding, sleeping and nappy changing, baby tools of the trade

Included items
Each student will receive :

  • A pocket mask, with case and gloves.
  • A face Shield on a key ring.
  • A Basic Paediatric First Aid Manual.
  • Red emergency cards
  • FAST assessment card.

Who should do it ?
All parents and anyone minding a child should do this course.  Got a new baby sitter you and you would like to be sure they can cope with medical emergencies. This is also a great gift for the new arrival !

Certification
Certification by  Venturesafe and is valid for 2 years.
