Screening involves looking at the blood supply to the brain, the main artery running through the abdomen and the arteries supplying blood to the feet. A report will be sent to your GP within seven to ten days.
This report will tell you if there are any problems with your blood supply to the brain, the main artery in the abdomen or the circulation to the legs. If there are problems, your GP can refer you to a vascular surgeon, or indeed you can come back and see one of our vascular surgeons.
If you do have a problem then you will need to undergo a more detailed assessment of that part of the circulation and you will need to have a proper consultation. During the consultation the surgeon will be in a position to advise on the best form of treatment.
