Sandyford
Sandyford (Irish: Áth an Ghainimh), Dublin, Ireland, formerly a village, is now part of the conurbation of Greater Dublin, in the county of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Located on Dublin's Southside, the village lies just south of the M50 Motorway accessed from Junctions 13 and 14.
The nearby Sandyford Industrial Estate, lying north of the M50, is one of the biggest estates in Ireland for light industry, warehouses and offices. It is home to over 600 major national and multinational companies. Recent developments include the construction of hotels; apartment blocks, shops and a private hospital as the Sandyford Industrial Estate and nearby Sandyford Village evolve into a major Dublin suburb.
Sandyford is also the location of the National Mint, a section of the Central Bank of Ireland, which has been in operation since 1976.
The Irish Management Institute (IMI) has its headquarters in Sandyford. IMI has the most extensive management training facility in Ireland. It offers full-time and part-time courses and degrees, and customised programmes in business management.
The name Sandyford is also used for the terminus of the Luas tram system's Green Line (line B), which is in the industrial estate rather than the village.
