The German retailer plans to open six new stores before the end of the year.
The Sandyford store will be the first to open, on Thursday, October 20th.
The new shops will be in Sandyford in Dublin, Blessington in Wicklow, Clonee in Meath, Letterkenny in Donegal, Castleisland in Kerry and Dunmanway in west Cork. Aldi and now controls 4.4 per cent of the Irish grocery market, up from 3.5 per cent this time last year.
