€50,000 investment fund to support young entrepreneurs, aged between 18 and 35
LEO DLR are calling on local entrepreneurs between the ages 18-35 years who have a business idea, start-up business or established business to apply to the IBYE Competition!
There is a €50,000 investment fund up for grabs at the county final in November and €2 million investment at the National Final. Local winners in the Best Start-Up and Best Established Business categories will receive €15,000 each and the two runners-up will each receive €5,000. The Best Business Idea winner locally will receive an investment prize of €7,000 and the runner-up will receive €3,000.
Speaking about IBYE, Head of Enterprise in the Local Enterprise Office Dun Laoghaire- Rathdown, Eibhlin Curley said: The IBYE initiative offers a very significant stepping stone into the world of running your own business. It's not just the scale of the investment fund on offer that makes IBYE so important; IBYE entrants receive eintensive nterprise boot camp training, business advice and mentoring from their LEO under the programme. IBYE has proven to be a great success in previous years and I would encourage all young entrepreneurs between the age of 18 – 35 to talk to LEO DLR about the IBYE programme and apply.
Last year, the competition attracted 1,400 applications across the country and supported over 450 young entrepreneurs. The local winners in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown were: Curtis Moran of Rook in the Best Business Idea category; Timothy Mc Elroy of House My Dog in the Best Start-Up Business category and Peter Roberts of Roberts of Dalkey in the Best Established Business category.
