Sandymount Hotels magical Gingerbread Village has been created by the hotel’s amazing team of chefs, led by Head Chef Shane Doherty.
What makes the Sandymount Hotel’s GINGERBREAD Village so unique is that each department within the hotel is given a Gingerbread House to decorate for the Village. The reservations, revenue, marketing, sales, accommodation, events, food and beverage, accounts and front desk teams all take a house and design it together.
The Gingerbread Village is the combined efforts of all employees at the hotel, it’s completion creates an air of excitement amongst guests and visitors that runs throughout the festive season, with all proceeds going to St Vincent de Paul.
The Gingerbread Village tradition at Sandymount Hotel is unique and will be on display in the hotel’s reception area just by our library throughout the month of December.
Since 2012 the Gingerbread Village has raised a huge amount of money each year for St Vincent de Paul thanks to our guests and visitors who made donations as they entered a competition to guess the amount of kilos of sugar used to make the village. As always the prize again this year will be an overnight stay with breakfast at Sandymount Hotel.
