New Educate Together National School opens in the heart of Sandyford Business District

You’d be forgiven if you haven’t noticed the new Educate Together National School now open in Dublin 18. Nestled in the heart of Sandyford, located between office blocks and apartment buildings and about 100 meters from the Luas line, Goatstown/Stillorgan Educate Together National School opened its doors for the first time this year without much fan fair. However, the school is off to a flying start.

It is with great excitement that this month they have opened their Pre-Enrolment for next year. If anyone wants to pre-enrol their child for Junior Infants 2020, visit their website and complete the online pre-enrolment form. Pre-Enrolment closes on the 29th November.
The school opened for the first time in September 2019 taking in Junior Infants only. They plan to expand year on year up to 6th Class. They are initially based in temporary accommodation at Grafton House in Sandyford Industrial Estate.

Educate Together Schools are in high demand. This August and September, the organisation opened 12 new schools. This is the highest number of school openings in Educate Together’s history and is reflective of the unwavering demand for their equality-based model of education.

Principal Diane Devereux is a graduate of Dublin City University and has extensive experience of working in schools with diverse populations and has an excellent knowledge of the initiatives and programmes that can be used to improve outcomes for all learners.

Diane said:
“We are delighted to have been given the honour of opening this new primary school currently based in Sandyford and are very excited about the wonderful opportunity that exists to forge a new, inclusive school where all stakeholders are respected and valued.
I’m enjoying collaborating with colleagues, parents, Educate Together and the wider school community creating a school environment that is nurturing and respecting the talents and skills of all of the children in the school.

The Educate Together ethos and values will resonate throughout all aspects of school life in our new school. We are committed to providing learning experiences that will assist our students to achieve their greatest potential to adapt and adjust to a diverse and ever changing world.
The students are encouraged to meet academic challenges with openness, enthusiasm, and a willingness to solve problems. We aim for an atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration, with respect for individual differences and the understanding that diversity of gender, physical or mental ability, culture, and background is a strength to be respected.
