Irish Whiskey Museum announce The Whiskey Lock-In Online Tastings

The Irish Whiskey Museum has launched The Whiskey Lock-In. Live premium whiskey tastings that happen every Friday night 8-9PM from 29th May. These innovative online events include four carefully curated miniature whiskeys delivered to the guests’ doors in time for kick-off.

Within the current climate, virtual experiences are all the rage and this fits the bill perfectly. As an added extra, since the Irish Whiskey Museum is an Irish owned company, it’s also a chance to support local while having a great night in!

Completely independent from any drinks brand, the Irish Whiskey Museum is highly regarded in the industry as a trusted source of whiskey knowledge. The Whiskey Lock-in’s will be hosted by one of their leading specialists. As well as having a deep knowledge of the different brands, their experts are also born storytellers, and will give their guests a brief insight into the fascinating way whiskey has weaved its way through Irish history.

The experience, which is run on Zoom, is perfect for whiskey connoisseurs or for people who just want to do something different on their Friday nights in! Priced at €40 plus booking fees, it is an absolute steal as it includes a 30 minute talk and a 30 minute tasting session of four premium whiskeys dropped to your front door and an Irish Whiskey Museum branded VIP dram glass.

The four whiskeys (which will change regularly) are guaranteed to be heavy hitters in the market. The line-up for the first week will be Powers Gold Pot Still, Irishman Single Malt, Connemara Aged Smokey, Knappogue 12 Pot still.

Nicola McDonnell, the Irish Whiskey Museum’s General Manager, explains how the idea came about "Like so many businesses in this pandemic, tourism has been heavily hit and will take some time to recover. But there is still an appetite for fun things to do while we are in lockdown. What better way to spend a Friday evening at home than with a group of whiskey lovers who share your passion of all things Irish whiskey? We'll even deliver the whiskey to your doorstep."

Tickets for the event are currently on sale at www.irishwhiskeymuseum.ie . The first one happens on Friday the 29th of May and places are very limited to only 20 tickets so are bound to sell out fast! Currently The Whiskey Lock-In experience is only available to people who live within the Dublin area. However, the plan is to launch nationwide soon!
