Commenting on the findings of the survey, Osborne’s Owner and Chief Executive Shona McManus said "Whilst a high percentage of organisations have had to stop recruiting and make redundancies over the past few months our June survey revealed that the recruitment market in some key sectors is performing better than expected. We know there is a significant unemployment rate right now, however, we also know that there are some green shoots outside of the essential services starting to emerge.

As people start to return to work and more businesses begin to reopen, confidence is growing and businesses are starting to recruit in higher numbers.

Our survey revealed how organisations are continuing to recruit and onboard new employees remotely with 46% of organisations surveyed successfully onboarding employees throughout the pandemic. The team at Osborne are working closely with Clients to support this new onboarding process and will continue to do so as organisations continue their recruitment plans over the coming months.

The survey of over 204 business leaders was conducted on the week of Monday 22nd June 2020 with people leaders from a cross section of  SME’s in the fintech space, global conglomerates and the public sector.
