The 10th anniversary of the EnviroCom Awards was held at the beautiful Royal Marine Hotel Dun Laoghaire last Thursday, November 10th
Hosted by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Chamber in association with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, this prestigious ceremony welcomed approx. 130 attendees from across the business community of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
Dignitaries included Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell - O’ Connor, TD, An Cathaoirleach Cllr. Cormac Devlin, and DLR Chamber President Mr. Pat Neill.
There were eleven winners overall with two victors of the Environmental Innovation award, St John of God Hospital, Stillorgan in the more than 50 employees category and Viva Green, Deansgrange who manufacture the world’s 1st chemical-free moss control product, in the less than 50 employees category.
Opening the awards Minister Mitchell - O’ Connor said “It’s great to be back again this year to celebrate your successes. These awards recognise the environmental challenges we face in Ireland, the EU and globally. I want to thank and congratulate all the companies and organisations who took part in these awards. I wish you continued success in achieving even better environmental performance in the years to come.”
DLR Chamber President Pat Neill said “We would like to thank all of our entrants, finalists past winners and sponsors, without whose support this significant event could not happen”
Continuing Mr Neill said, “The original idea of creating the EnviroCom awards was about encouraging the business community of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown to become more sustainable by adopting better environmental practices. It is a philosophy that Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber and County Council have worked towards throughout the county over the past decade”
