Berlusconi

MILAN (Reuters) - Fininvest, the holding company of Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, denied it has any plans to sell a stake in its AC Milan football club unit, the company said on Friday.

Earlier, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport said Berlusconi had decided to sell 35 percent of the top European football club to Abu Dhabi United Group, an investment company linked to the Emir of Dubai.

"In relation to press reports on the sale of a stake in Milan's capital by Fininvest, (Fininvest) denies in the most categorical and absolute manner possible that there is a plan of this type nor contacts or talks," it said.

On Thursday, Italian daily Corriere della Sera had said Milan was considering Arab Emirate family al Maktoum as a possible 30 percent shareholder.
